Japanese Army Winter Tanker Helmet
Offered is an exceptional WWII Imperial Japanese Army winter tanker helmet, an example that stands far above the condition typically encountered. Dated Showa 15 (1940), this early‑war piece retains every element that collectors hope to find but rarely see intact.
The helmet features its full padded construction with original interior fur completely present, soft, clean, and undisturbed. The suspension liner is fully intact, showing only the lightest signs of age and absolutely no structural compromise. All exterior components remain original to the piece, including the chinstrap, which is complete, supple, and still fitted with its D‑ring fasteners—a detail often missing or damaged on surviving examples.
The iconic five‑point star is firmly sewn to the front All buttons and fastening points function smoothly, with no cracks, tears, or repairs. The exterior leather retains strong color and texture, with only minimal handling wear consistent with careful wartime use and long-term preservation.
Overall, this helmet rates well above excellent condition, a standout specimen suitable for advanced collections of Japanese Army equipment, armored unit gear, or WWII headgear in general. Early‑war dated, complete, and exceptionally well-preserved.
